Thanks for the clarification of the status. I am now exploring the infrastructure scripts, though I don't have enough time to work on them at the moment. Regarding Operations guide, I am working Japanese translation to up-to-date by forking the git repository. The translated version will be updated soon. Create a wiki page for your local translation team

Hi, In order to attract more translators and clearly guide them to start contribution, I re-organized our team's wiki page: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/I18nTeam. In the new version, there is a place to introduce each local translation team. See: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/I18nTeam#Local_Translation_Teams. @ Coordinators, please create a child wiki page (either in English or in your own language) under /I18nTeam to introduce your translation team with below information at least: contact information, main page if you have, and the work items you are working on. For example, I created /I18nTeam/zh_cn to introduce Chinese translation team. Feel free to add more information to your local team page if you want. Now we have pages for Chinese (China), English (Australia)，and Korean. You can use them as samples. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know. Translation plan in Icehouse and call for participation

Hi, In Icehouse, I plan to finish 1 book translation and do messages translation. * Messages translation According to the release schedule, the string freeze date is March 4th. So we will start message translation one month early, i.e. Feb 4th. * Document translation "Installation guide" is a good choice, because: a> It's a round 20k words. (not big as our first practise.) b> It is "stable" among different releases because it has been stripped to be basic. Only new sections will be added for new releases. The existing content should not be changed a lot. So I'm going to start the translation of "Installation guide" from now. Let's target for 1 month to complete the translation, i.e. January 12th is the end date. After that we will spend two or three weeks to make them on-line in the doc website. Then we will have Openstack installation guide for different languages. The resources in Transifex is: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/openstack-manuals-i18n/resource/instal… and some are in: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/openstack-manuals-i18n/resource/common/ How do you feel this plan? use dict-based substitution instead of index-based?

Hello i18n team, I came across a question today I was unable to find the answer for. The question arose from a review I was looking over. Should I18n translated strings should use dict-based substitution instead of index-based? Consensus on translation update deadline for future stable update

As you may know, I discussed the deadline of translation import for stable release update with stable-maint team and we have a good consensus on it. It applies to future stable maintenance updates too. For the stable maintenance updates, the deadline of translation updates from I18N team is freeze+3 days. It is worth documented in StableBranch wiki page. Although it sometimes be short when considering holidays/vacations or other reasons, IMO 3 days is a enough period to catch up our translations because stable updates would not have many string updates. As a next step we should have a similar consensus for normal release. The situation for normal release is different from stable updates, but it is important to make translation updates (I18N team work) a part of the release process. I believe Daisy will coordinate the discussion. Thanks, Akihiro

Translation update in Havana stable release

Hi, The Chinese translations of Horizon have been updated. Please import the new version into Havana stable release. @ all translation teams, if you improved Horizon translation after Oct. 12th , (I think Oct. 12th was the last translation update date before the official Havana release.) please let us know. stable/havana Horizon translation update: FFE possibility?

Hi stable team, (Cc: I18N team) I18N and Horizon team would like to update Horizon translations for havana 2013.2.1 update. Several translation fixes have been done in Transifex and there are several patches which fixes wrong strings in Horizon. However, some of them were merged just a few days ago and some of them are under review[1]. To allow translators to update and validate their translations, I would like to request FFE of updating Horizon translations My current plan is to propose a patch of translation update Sunday. The patch update POT files (source language, English) and PO files of each languages. (Note that the patch is not a backport and proposed to stable/havana directly since strings are different in both branches.) [1] Patches with string fixes under review. [Climate] i18n impl

Hello everyone! Now I'm implementing i18n messages for Climate project (Reservation Service) and as I know there are some problems with Transifex now... I've read http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-i18n/2013-November/000322.ht… and now I really don't know what to do further. I may prepare our project to support translation mechanism in future, but now I cannot create Transifex project for it. May you say what is the best thing I can do now in this situation?
