Hello, We are pleased to release the first draft version of FUEL-CLOUD. FUEL-CLOUD is a collection of commonly used entries for localization of cloud computing related software and docs. Today, Cloud is very new to this world and is an emerging technology to the future. Lots of companies are switching their application to cloud. To understand and reach to various corner of world, it is necessary to made it available in different languages. To make the life of translators and localizer easier, it is necessary to provide a list of commonly used entries from cloud computing with its context. fuel-cloud module is prepared from different cloud technologies so that the module can be used across platform. This module will help to use a particular word precisely in cloud computing. Switch to itstool for docs translation?

Hi all, I've been working on switching the docs translation infrastructure over to itstool. This affects openstack-manuals, operations-guide, and api-site. The current tools are based on xml2po, but they don't call xml2po directly. Instead, they import xml2po and mess around with its internals to get some custom behavior. itstool is designed to handle custom behavior with rules from the W3C Internationalization Tag Set (ITS). You can see the ITS I put together so far here: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/91869/3/os_doc_tools/resources/openstack.i… Using ITS also allows us to do local ITS attributes to override the behavior for specific elements. See a simple example here: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/91872/1/api-quick-start/src/docbkx/api-qui… Most messages in the PO files will be the same. The one big difference will be in how placeholders are done when there's a block-level element inside a block-level element (a practice I discourage anyway). Hi everyone, We've finally pinned down a date and time for the Pootle Demonstration by Pootle contributor Dwayne Bailey! It will be on Tuesday, 19 August at 0800 UTC http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20140819T08 We'll probably coordinate in #openstack-translation, folks can ask questions there or join the video (we'll provide a link in channel when it's set up). The session will be recorded and available on YouTube following the session so that others can review it if they miss the live demo. In the meantime, I'll be working to schedule an upgrade of our demo Pootle instance at http://translate-dev.openstack.org/ so that we have the latest RC version installed for their upcoming 2.6.0 release to work with. Hello, I'm interested by OpenStack and I think a good way to learn is by proposing to contribute. I'm french (working in switzerland) and I've started to take a look at things about documentation and available translations. I found one documentation translated in french: "Démarrage rapide pour l'API OpenStack <http://docs.openstack.org/fr/api/quick-start/content/index.html>" I would like to propose my help, if it is accepted, to translate anything from english to french. Hi, openstack-ja.github.io has an old version of the guide that is different from what we have on docs.openstack.org at: http://docs.openstack.org/ja/trunk/install-guide/install/yum/content/instal… The guide was last updated on 2014-04-27. I suggest to remove that version and point to the version on docs.openstack.org instead. Icehosue Horizon translation update

Hi I18N folks, Icehouse stable update release 2014.1.2 is planned at Aug 7 [1]. I have a plan to update Horizon translations for this stable release. In the current plan I will import the latest Icehouse translations at Aug 1 and propose a patch to gerrit. Jul 31 is a planned date of the feature freeze for 2014.1.2. Please update Transifex by then if you want. At a glance at Transifex status, most languages (included in Icehouse) are 100%. Thought? Scheduling a Pootle demonstration

Hi everyone, I work on the OpenStack infrastructure team and we're planning on supporting your team with whichever choice for translations tool you decide upon. There was just a Zanata demo this week, and I've reached out to the Pootle project at Daisy's request to organize a similar demo some time next week. The individual from Pootle who has volunteered to give the demo is in the UTC+1 time zone and has asked for some timing proposals from the team for when we can attend a demo so he can check his schedule and we can settle on a time. Suggestions?
