Overall I'm in favor of the proposal because it achieves the one thing
that seems most important to have: less conflict of attention between
the project/design summit stuff and the presentatations/marketing/
selling/showing off stuff. It's hard to be in both frames of mind at
the same time.

However, it makes me sad to see the continued trend of limiting
in-person gatherings. They are useful as a way of keeping people
aligned with similar goals and approaches to reaching those goals.
Yes, it is expensive, but it would be nice if the patrons (our
employers) would recognize that getting us all working well together
is a cost of doing this business.

Virtualized gatherings are useful too, but they don't accomplish the
same thing.
