I went ahead an updated the etherpad to include the screener survey for the persona interviews. It's the same as the usability survey except for the addition of a new question:
5b which of the following describes your role?
a) Cloud Developer: Design, implement, publish and maintain the technical aspects of a service component
b) Cloud Operator: Monitor running systems, and track and initially triage events
c) Cloud Administrator: Responsible for all cloud operational processes in their area of expertise (e.g., Network)
d) Tenant / Domain Administrator: Responsible for administering a customer's communities and their resources.
e) Cloud Consumer / End User: Request & use resources, depending on aaS offering (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, etc. user).
Please make changes and edits as appropriate.
I may also schedule a meeting with a smaller group to work on the survey for an hour. Let me know if you're interested in participating...
Thanks,
Piet

I think there might be a little confusion about the screener(s). The one that Piet posted to the etherpad last week is for the usability testing he and Melissa are conducting next week, not for the persona interviews. It's a good starting point, but needs work to make it more relevant to the interviews. So you are right to be confused by the questions and I don't think you missed anything about the intent of the screener :)
I think we can use Piet's screener and just make it broader to include more than just server admin tasks. Does someone feel confident listing a couple tasks for each of the 5 roles below?
* Cloud Developer: Design, implement, publish and maintain the technical aspects of a service component
* Cloud Operator: Monitor running systems, and track and initially triage events
* Cloud Administrator: Responsible for all cloud operational processes in their area of expertise (e.g., Network)
* Tenant / Domain Administrator: Responsible for administering a customer's communities and their resources.
* Cloud Consumer / End User: Request & use resources, depending on aaS offering (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, etc. user).

I've updated and commented on the etherpad and also adjusting some of the questions and answers. Some of my questions I've combined or modified. I don't have any informational questions, only qualifying questions.
In looking at the questions, there seems to be some informational questions that don't need to be there in order to screen someone to be a candidate for a persona interview and it seems to be mainly/only focused on server administration and seems to be limiting our screening for only 1 persona. I thought we were trying to screen for 5 categories, e.g. administrator, consumer, developer, tenant administrator, and operator. Or, was there some discussion I missed about what the intent of the screener is?
Please advise.
Thanks,
Ju

As well, can you please indicate if these are qualifying questions, or just informational, and if qualifying, what the criteria and quotas are?

Hi Ju,
Do you mind writing-out any questions that you want to include exactly as they should be displayed in the survey? Also, can you be more specific about the ordering?
Thanks,
Piet

Piet:
I took a quick look and here are some comments and/or questions that should be added -- it'll need some wordsmithing:
(1) Need to ask a question about scope of person's responsibilities -- single data center, multiple locations, regions, etc. -- it's relevant to understanding the scope of what he/she is managing.
(2) What kind of cloud services does he/she use or manage? e.g. Public, private or on premise, and/or hybrid cloud
(3) How do you engage with the cloud services?
e.g. Administer cloud services, Consumer / user of cloud services, Develop services, Onboarding infrastructure for creating cloud services
(4) Do you use PaaS in your cloud? <-- this matters for screening consumers who may be Paas users or not (as we figure out the cloud user role)
(5) Order of questions still needs a bit of work
I might have more questions to add, and I'll email/add them to the Etherpad. Do you want comments in email or on the Etherpad? Please advise.
Thanks,
Ju
