We wouldn't run a public mirror anyway, it would be a network of
private mirrors distributed throughout our various CI environments
so as to be located as close as possible to our job workers.
Basically a CDN implemented via an AFS cache with Apache running in
front of it.
I browsed around on the TCL site briefly but didn't see where they
had any instructions on recommended mirroring mechanisms. Different
distros update their package repositories in different ways and the
mechanisms used to sync one are not necessarily safe for another, so
you would at a minimum want to find out a lot more about how it's
supposed to be mirrored before embarking on a quest to design and
implement one within our infrastructure.
