This is not at all unusual. The scope of interest for subgroups
within the OpenStack community changes continually. The short and
long descriptions of mailing lists can also be adjusted to suit. On
the other hand changing the E-mail address used by the mailing list
is non-trivial.

I still don't understand why that's necessary. Why does this imply a
need to change the E-mail address for that mailing list at all?

The prefixed subject tag is also configurable within the list admin
interface and does not have to match the localname from the list's
E-mail address.

Replies to messages from before the rename will bounce back to the
sender, attempts to unsubscribe from the list via the old name or
take other admin actions will fail, bookmarks and other references
to the list description page or old archive URLs will 404, et
cetera.
