Nope, just went through all the API docs too and it appears they only
shorten long URLs and don't think of it as a pointer service.

Or, create a new short URL pointing to the correct long URL. But I don't

Really, for printed books, it's better to do the footnote as mentioned in
the other thread. I'll reply there too.
