Personally, I've operated with the mindset of "multiple maintainers" /
SMEs approach.  Also that's the model I've seen successfully used in
other upstream communities (10+ years old) that I participate in.

It makes a lot of sense in the long-term, and sustainability-wise.

IOW, "Vehement ACK" for the multiple maintiners model.
