Don kehn and Devananda are just putting together the patch set for
nova now - Don got the Quantum stuff done first - to support setting
PXE options in DHCP via Quantum.
So, once that lands (which will initially only support nova bare
metal) you could make PXE booting VM's a 'nova boot' option and have
the relevant boot details passed to quantum automatically (on a per-vm
basis). [For nova baremetal, this comes from the virt driver, but even
there we could support command line override, though we'd want to
decide on consistent semantics for the image.].
