Hi All,
In order to ping between two vm instances on two vlans, do I need to create two physical bridges for the two vlans and associate(tag) the two vlans to these two physical bridges?
Thanks,
YuLing

Subject: [openstack-dev] [Quantum] cannot receive icmp request in vm instance from different network(vlan)?
Hi All,
We encountered a problem that the icmp ping request could not reach vm instance from different network(vlan). When we created two vm instances on two different compute nodes (using cirros image), the icmp ping request reached the physical server of the compute node, but could not get icmp reply. Just wondering if the vm instance created using cirros is capable of supporting icmp ping request from different vlans? Any configuration needed in the vm instance for supporting that?
Thanks,
YuLing
