[openstack-dev] [Quantum] cannot receive icmp request in vm instance from different network(vlan)?

I just checked the 'ip a |grep state' and the physical bridge seems to be in 'unknown' state. Would this be an issue?

9: br-eth5: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN
10: br-int: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN

Thanks,

YuLing

Subject: [openstack-dev] [Quantum] cannot receive icmp request in vm instance from different network(vlan)?

Hi All,

We encountered a problem that the icmp ping request could not reach vm instance from different network(vlan). When we created two vm instances on two different compute nodes (using cirros image), the icmp ping request reached the physical server of the compute node, but could not get icmp reply. Just wondering if the vm instance created using cirros is capable of supporting icmp ping request from different vlans? Any configuration needed in the vm instance for supporting that?

Thanks,

YuLing
