[openstack-dev] development environment for Ubuntu-based release of OpenStack?

Dear all,

We are developing certain extensions to OpenStack (patches some of which
we are considering to contribute later on), and we want to deploy them in
a 'stable' environment which is currently based on the Essex-based release
of OpenStack coming with Ubuntu 12.04.1.

Is there an easy way to create a development environment that would be
compatible with this particular release (which is not exactly Essex)? For
example, we would like to use the unit-testing framework, to make sure
that our changes do not break other parts of the code.

Would appreciate any insights/suggestions.

Thanks,
Alex
