We saw this in the past with null characters as Alex said. This is potentially the result of a copy and paste from another source and into the Zanata editor. A simple fix would be for a translator to rewrite that string. Zanata could also try and check for null characters when saving strings. Carlos A. We need both IMHO - Zanata WebUI should not accept a string that zanata-cli refuses to download as it happens here, Thanks for looking into this. Alex, thanks for the investigation! Andreas

Unfortuantely I still get the same error. Is there another such string? How can I search myself for this character in the WebUI? Andreas, We managed to find the culprit it's a unicode "backspace" character which has no graphical representation that goes into the translations. What you can do to search the those invalid translations, Go to the URL https://translate.openstack.org/webtrans/translate?project=horizon&iteration=stable-liberty&localeId=it&locale=en%20#view:doc;doc:openstack_dashboard/locale/django;search:%08;translated:show;approved:show Go into the editor, on right side, open up the configuration panel, check on "Use syntax highlighting editor". All the *red dot* appears in the screen is the "backspace" character. You can search for the character in the search field in editor and look for *red dot *using the syntax highlighting editor. You will need to copy and paste the char from character map with code U+0008 [image: Inline image 1] [image: Inline image 2] [image: Inline image 3] --------------------------------------------- Alex Eng Globalisation Tools Engineering DID: +61 3514 8262 <callto:+61+3514+8262> Mobile: +614 2335 3457 <callto:+614+2335+3457> Red Hat, Asia-Pacific Pty Ltd Level 1, 193 North Quay Brisbane 4000 Office: +61 7 3514 8100 <callto:+61+7+3514+8100> Fax: +61 7 3514 8199 <callto:+61+7+3514+8199> Website: www.redhat.com On Wed, Oct 21, 2015 at 4:36 PM, Andreas Jaeger <aj@suse.com> wrote:

Ah, it was *Italian* and not Portuguese. Found it and fixed all, thanks a lot! Andreas
