[manila] Requesting a feature freeze exception for adding Resource Locks in the Manila UI
Hi Carlos and Goutham, I would like to formally request a feature freeze exception for the Resource Locks panel for it to be included in this release cycle. My Outreachy internship ends on Friday this week (Match 6th) and I would like to wrap up majority of my work. I would also like to note that adding this feature does not bump the manila API microversion or any add new requirements to the manila-ui project Kind Regards, Rose Kimondo.
Hi Rose, Thanks for your work on this. I support this Feature Freeze Exception (FFE); you have put a lot of effort into this project, and I would like to see it merged as you conclude your Outreachy internship. Beyond the feature freeze, we are also observing a soft-string-freeze in Manila UI. While I do not see modifications to existing user-facing translatable strings in your change [1], many new ones are being introduced. I will consult with the i18n and Horizon teams to determine the impact of approving this FFE. For future reference, FFE requests should be addressed to the entire community, the project's core maintainers, or the PTL, who will then consult with the team. We will discuss your request with the other maintainers over IRC and during the weekly Manila team meeting [2]. Thank you for bringing this up and for the detailed information. The feature was proposed on time and it's a great addition. It will not require us to bump the API version in Manila UI at this time, so that makes it more comfortable. I would like to grant this feature freeze exception. Thank you!
