Hey folks, tl;dr: as a reminder, all nova sessions are marked in https://ptg.opendev.org/ptg.html I was about to remind you of the schedule for all our nova PTG sessions when I just figured that our etherpad got trashed. Until some admin is able to restore it, please find the agenda in some stored revision https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/nova-caracal-ptg/timeslider#13560 Operators, please gently note that we'll have a nova-operator-hour on Tuesday 1500UTC. As a reminder, this timeslot is dedicated to listening to your experiences and pain points so if you really would like to contribute to the Nova community by providing your insights, this is the right time ! This time, we'll be using the OIF Meetpad instance instead of Zoom. The URL is https://meetpad.opendev.org/nova-caracal-ptg The other Nova sessions will be Tuesday to Friday, 1pm to 5pm UTC. Should you want to attend, feel free to ping me (bauzas) on IRC #openstack-nova or drop me an email (to this address) until our etherpad becomes unstuck in order to let me know your availabilities and I'll try to sort our topics so that you could attend. Later, I'll add, like previously done, a courtesy ping list for every topic in the etherpad so you could register by writing your IRC nick. [kolla] Upgrading across supported OS's

Hello! I have a question about the kola upgrade process. Thanks in advance. I am attempting to upgrade our kola version (Victoria to wallaby). The docs suggest it should entail getting the new version of the kolla-ansible pkg & deps, updating the config files & then running "kolla-ansible upgrade". However, what do we do if version N & version N+1 of kolla-ansible don't support the same host OS version? Thanks again -aidan

"Juju-db.service" failed after restart

Hello, We are currently facing an issue with our OpenStack deployment via JUJU (version 3.1.6). This problem emerged after a hardware maintenance project in which we increased the disk capacity. The primary symptom is that JUJU commands are no longer functioning as expected. Upon investigating, we’ve identified that the issue seems to be linked to a specific service, “juju.db.service,” which is failing to operate correctly. When we attempt to execute any JUJU command, it continually tries to connect to this service. Here’s an example using the juju status --debug command: 09:49:50 INFO juju.cmd supercommand.go:56 running juju [3.1.6 f6a66aa91eec620f5ac04a19d8c06bef03ae6228 gc go1.20.8] 09:49:50 DEBUG juju.cmd supercommand.go:57 args: []string{"/snap/juju/24626/bin/juju", "status", "--debug"} 09:49:50 INFO juju.juju api.go:86 connecting to API addresses: [10.20.0.167:17070] We strongly suspect that this issue is related to the Juju MongoDB service. However, our attempts to repair the MongoDB data have been unsuccessful, and it appears that the data may be corrupted. Our primary question at this point is whether it’s possible to deploy a new Juju-db service to resolve this problem and regain the full operational status of the JUJU commands. Regards,

Hi Openstack-helmers, As you all know the PTG is coming and is going to happen next week. I booked two hours from 14:00 UTC till 16:00 UTC on Tuesday Oct/24 in Newton virtual room. Please take a look at the schedule [1]. At this point it is not clear how many people are interested to join our sessions. If we need more time we can book a room later. Probably not on Tuesday, but Thursday and Friday look not too busy. If you would like to discuss a particular topic please put it here [2]. I'll add some topics a bit later. D&I WG PTG Session - Leadership Shadowing

The D&I WG will hold a session Monday at 13:00 UTC in the Diablo room. The subject of the session is a Leadership Shadowing program we have been brainstorming[0] to help generate the next generation of Leaders in the OpenInfra Projects.
