[openstack-dev] Availability Zones

I appreciate the response, even though it gives me a sad face.
I know I am responding to you Phil, but the rest here is directed at the community, not you…
Here's how the conversation goes with a Dasein Cloud contributor:
Dev: I want to be able to provision volumes in an availability zone
Me: What version of OpenStack are you using? I've not encountered AZ support in the wild.
Dev: Essex. Here's the JSON showing the availability zone for my server.
Me: Essex? Really? Let me see how I can query the AZs. Because I need a list of AZs proper so I can give them to you so you can provision a volume in the right AZ.
Then I bring up this issue to the group and it appears you can't get there from here (pretend I said that in a Maine accent).
-> Features without APIs.
-> Configurable items without a way for external tools to know about it.
-> I'm still talking about these issues as we are rolling towards Grizzly
