The ... um ... confusion ... a number of us displayed today is because we think UTC = GMT (correct) ... and England is 8 hours off PT most of the year (also correct) ... on GMT ... so 20:00 UTC = 12:00 PT.  BUT (and I've just had this argument with my English wife educating me), we are indeed 8 hours off English time at present, but England is on BST (British Summer Time) which is one hour off GMT. I [naively] over the years have forgotten we're IN DST at present, and that the Fall back/Spring forward doesn't take us to/from DST.  So see you in a few minutes at 1pm PT ... 20:00 UTC.  s.
