Hi Enterprise and Product Working Groups,
The Enterprise WG has started a sub-team to focus on ISV enablement for the
OpenStack ecosystem. We have recently had a change in leadership and we
wanted to use this opportunity to (A) formulate a new plan to take this
idea from concept to implementation along with (B) recruit new members
(since our current membership is low/inactive).
Please send me an email if you would be willing to volunteer on this team
to help ISV enablement for the OpenStack platform. Our current team
meetings are every other Wednesday at 9:00 UTC (1:00P EST/10A PST)... Next
meeting is tomorrow.
Thanks,
Shamail

Subject: [Enterprise][ISV Interop] Meeting Cancelled for This Week
Hi team,
As most of you might have seen on the Enterprise WG mailing list, Dave P.
is changing roles/companies and will be taking a break from the OpenStack
community.
For the last few meetings, the ISV sub-team in the Enterprise WG was
getting sparse attendance. We brainstormed a few times on the call about
how we might be able to build a plan to gain more traction, identify the
various means of assistance this team could provide to ISVs with
understanding (and enabling) cloud-aware/cloud-native application patterns.
Let's cancel the team call for tomorrow (regular meeting time is 9:00 UTC
every other Wednesday) and instead let's determine the following things via
email over the next couple of weeks:
1) ISV Enablement Team
The people on this email thread are people who were on the bi-weekly
meeting invite. Please let us know if you are still able to participate in
this sub-team as we re-launch. We need to determine how many active
members we have and whether we need to ask for more volunteers.
2) Pre-Requisite Materials
What documents/incentives do we need to create to successfully engage with
ISVs. Do we need a common "pitch"? What else do we need to draw
interest? Are there links we should be sharing with the ISVs? Etc..
3) Re-assess milestones and timeline
The original plan was to launch the ISV interop program (with branding and
a few ISVs on board) by the Austin Summit. Is this still feasible?
4) Communication method and cadence
Are con-calls effective or do we need to share content too? Should we
stick with voice or do a google hangout + voice?
5) Milestones
What are the various milestones the team can set to track overall progress
and also a "scripted" path from initial meeting with ISV to having a
verified application that can run on OpenStack.
This worksteam is critical to further expand the application eco-system for
the OpenStack platform. I look forward to the dialog on this thread and on
future calls to establish/execute a plan of action.
Thanks,
Shamail
