You are spot on with this. I have no idea why, but the Agent simply
will not function on a vmware vswitch and I have no idea why. I
originially tried to do this in Grizzly, and it's disconcerting to
hear that it's still a problem especially given VMWare's presence in
the Openstack community. I've never seen a solution to it. Everything
else works perfectly inside VMWare.

Maybe some VMWare experts will see this and tell us the magic trick :).
