Thank you very much all, for your prompt and informative replies. Sorry that I am responding late. I will go back to the channels and check out the links you provided and see what I can get out of it.

 Hello Menyi,

Welcome to OpenStack and Outreachy!

If you're looking to appy as an OpenStack intern for the next round, I believe the best place to start asking for help in IRC is the #openstack-opw channel, where mentors and interns usually work together. It's a great place to ask questions.

There are also other places where you can find more info, like the official Outreachy page[1] and the Openstack one[2].

Then, if you're sure OpenStack Neutron is your area of interest, the project wiki[3] and the "How to contribute" page[4] will help you get started.  The #openstack-neutron channel will be more useful once you have specific questions on the project development, I believe.

I haven't been active in the community for a while, but I'm always glad to see people joining!

I am new to OpenStack and will like to work on the openstack- neutron project as my participation in the Outreachy internship program. I have joined the IRC for the project but I only see users signing in and out. Can anyone please provide me some tips to enable me to properly join the #openstack-neutron channel on IRC and start communicating with mentors and other contributors?
