During the Liberty release we introduced microversions which should 
allow us to evolve the Manila API more smoothly and granularly. Manila's 
2.0 API version is actually identical to the 1.0 API version except that 
microversions are supported.

We are announcing the deprecation of the 1.0 API, with the intention to 
remove it after Mitaka releases. This will allow us to remove the 
compatibility layer code that supports 1.0. Existing clients will find 
migrating to 2.0 very easy -- just use a newer client lib and set the 
version to 2.0.
