[Openstack] Changing port status

Hi,
At the moment you are able to dynamically add and remove a nic from an instance if and only if you are using Neutron. This is currently supported by libvirt. The code for Vmware is up in review for Juno and in development for the XenAPI.
The port will become active when the backend networking implementation has the interface attached to the instance and the virtual nic attached to the virtual network.
Thanks
Gary

Subject: [Openstack] Changing port status

Hi,
I was searching on a way to add multiple interfaces for an instance launched on openstack. I found this concept of ports created within neutron network. I could create port but its status is always down so -

1- What would I need to do to make port status active
2- Is this the right way to add multiple interfaces to instance?

Thank you
