[Openstack] How can I know the version if I installed from source code?

--version isn't working here (Openstack Folsom @ Ubuntu 12.04)      :-/

Unknown, couldn't find versioninfo file at /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-
packages/novaclient/versioninfo
