Hi Steve,
You could use Hybridfox to manage your EC2 instances and your Openstack local cloud, which is not exactly what you wanted but it achieves the same goal.
https://code.google.com/p/hybridfox/
Hope this helps.
George

so I have a nice little openstack cluster running on local hardware.
I would like to be able to launch off to EC2 within the same dashboard
as launching to local hardware.
my google fu hasnt been able to find anything useful amongst all the
openstack/ec2 noise.
does anyone have any pointers or search suggestions.
thanks
steve
