[Openstack] Deprecating Nova images API in the V3 API

Hi,

There is currently an ongoing discussion on the development list about
deprecating the Nova images api for V3 API on the development mailing list:

http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-dev/2013-August/012958.html

This would mean that if you were using the Nova V3 API instead of making
image related requests to the Nova API you would make them to glance
directly instead (this means that deployers would have to make the glance
API publicly accessible). Note that if you use the V2 API nothing will
change.

If this is going to adversely affect you please yell loudly now :-) If
there isn't significant opposition its very likely it will disappear.

Also see this link for other APIs which will not be available in the Nova
V3 API:

http://chris.yeoh.info/2013/07/01/nova-api-extensions-not-to-be-ported-to-v3/

(although baremetal nodes is now back in).

All of these also fall under the category of providing functionality that
can be accessed directly to another OpenStack service rather than being
proxied via Nova, or only supports nova-network which is being deprecated
soon (though not in Havana).

Regards,

Chris
