Hello everyone,

Last but not least, one week before final release, the tarball for the
first Folsom release candidate for OpenStack Compute (Nova) is now
available at:

https://launchpad.net/nova/folsom/folsom-rc1

Congrats to all the Nova crew on this major milestone, with 195 bugfixes
in the last 5 weeks.

Unless release-critical issues are found that warrant a release
candidate respin, this RC1 will be formally released as the 2012.2 final
version on September 27. You are therefore strongly encouraged to test
and validate this tarball.

Alternatively, you can directly test the milestone-proposed branch at:
https://github.com/openstack/nova/tree/milestone-proposed

If you find an issue that could be considered release-critical, please
file it at:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+filebug

and tag it *folsom-rc-potential* to bring it to the release crew's
attention.

Note that the "master" branch of Nova is now open for Grizzly
development, and feature freeze restrictions no longer apply.
