> Subject: OpenStack Days Organizers: 2017 Theme "Runs on OpenStack"
>
> Hello 2017 OpenStack Days Organizers,
>
>
>
> *“The World #RunsOnOpenStack” *is a new OpenStack Foundation campaign for
> 2017.
>
> Everyday life runs on OpenStack, from making a phone call, ordering online
> groceries, visiting the doctor, using your credit card, to watching TV
> shows at home; all of these can be powered by OpenStack and running
> everywhere around the world.
>
>
>
> OpenStack Days events are a great representation of the incredible
> geographic diversity of OpenStack users. We are encouraging OpenStack Days
> organizers to leverage and include the power of the #RunsOnOpenStack
> campaign into your event.
>
>
>
> Help the OpenStack Foundation spread this message by being a part of this
> global movement.
>
>
>
> *Some pre-event ideas for your consideration:*
>
>
>
> On the OpenStack.org website/marketing webpage you will find an InDesign
> file where you can change “The World” to be your local region. You can say,
> “The Nordics Runs on OpenStack” or you can select a specific technology
> such as, “Kubernetes Runs On OpenStack” to represent your event.
>
>
> If you are not familiar with InDesign or need assistance, our design team
> can help. Please contact me for assistance. Please allow a minimum of 10
> business days for the design team to be able to assist you with your
> request.
>
>
>
> Consider using the hashtag (#RunsOnOpenStack) on social medial to reach a
> wider audience and to showcase end users speaking at your event. In this
> public OpenStack dropbox folder (https://www.dropbox.co
> m/sh/u9o27a36iy7v3yi/AACMzEkKqO5wnGI7Ran2cJNia?dl=0), feel free to use
> any of these graphics for various industries such as: finance, media,
> retail, auto, research, etc.
>
>
>
> You will also find LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook banners that you are
> free to use on the OpenStack Marketing portal (www.openstack.org/marketing)
> under Graphics/Web/Graphics/RunsOnOpenStack. Please note that we are
> still in the process of adding additional resources such as t-shirt
> designs, sticker templates, and signage templates - so stay tuned there
> will be more resources for you to leverage.
>
>
>
> To enhance your social media posts, you can pair the appropriate graphic
> with your end users talk or the theme of your event. For example: If
> Walmart was speaking at your event, you could Tweet: “Retail
> #RunsOnOpenStack. Come learn how @Walmart delivers zero downtime Black
> Friday retail events at OpenStack Days Milo” with the graphic.
>
> You can also use the hashtag to highlight tools that will be discussed at
> your event. Having a Kubernetes talk? “Container management
> #RunsOnOpenStack. Learn how to build Kubernetes OpenStack joint
> environments at OpenStack Days Milo.” If your event is being presented in
> the local language, feel free to transform the copy into the appropriate
> language. However, to make sure you’re reaching readers following the
> campaign, consider incorporating the English-language “#RunsOnOpenStack”
> into your social media campaign.
>
>
>
> “The World #RunsOnOpenStack” video is available via the OpenStack
> Foundation YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EWnmg3OUsk),
> which means you can stream the file on your website if you so choose. If
> YouTube is not available in your country, you have the option to download
> the video file.
>
>
>
>
>
> *Some ideas for the day of your event:*
>
> Leverage “The World #RunsOnOpenStack” video.
> This video captures user stories from around industries, use cases and
> workloads to show the diversity of organizations that run on OpenStack.
> This 2-minute clip is a great way to greet your guests as they arrive. The
> clip is on the OpenStack Foundation YouTube channel, however, a raw file is
> available in the Dropbox folder. We strongly suggest you download the file
> and play rather than stream it during your intro remarks.
>
>
>
> Consider running this video during coffee and lunch breaks.
> Consider adding the #RunsOnOpenStack to your presentations to encourage
> your attendees to include this hashtag in their tweets.
> Incorporating users and visitors with the hashtag. If you meet a new
> user, or hear a great example during a talk, use the #RunsOnOpenStack to
> share your event around the world. Encouraging audience members to share
> their stories that way will help you identify great users you did not even
> know were in the audience!

>
>
> We are really excited about rolling out this campaign at all of our 2017
