Thanks for sharing this Tom.

I'm very exciting to see such advanced technology for a mall and shopping
area; especially, the 200+ 4G smart commerce services in Ximending shopping
and pedestrian zone (wow!).

@ALL below are questions which I'm asking the local Taiwanese to answer so
we can get more ideas for what kinds of 'cloud applications' shoppers will
want from a hackathon? <-- Please ask your friends and family if they have
used any of the below things?

1.) Can anyone provide pictures or stories for how they have used or have
had their friends/family use any of the following devices/services while
shopping?

   - Multi-screen interactions digital shopping player
   - Digital signage management
   - APP module applications (beacon check-in)
   - AD pushing system (from beacon check-in)
   - IoT Smart Commerce Analytic
   - O2O Smart Gadgets

2.) Has anyone used any of the following data and/or APIs previously, or
know of someone who has? What kinds of data are available? Who
provides/understands the data?

   - Beacon Deployment Platform API
   - In-door shopper navigation data
   - Real time marketing data and APIs
   - Living Field Lab data and APIs

3.) What kinds of imaginative ideas have you had for using the above
devices+data+APIs to improve the shoppers experience?

   - Gamification of shoppers checking into stores?
   - Purchasing behaviour as advertisements and coupons are sent to
shoppers via apps as they are shopping?
   - Rewards and games for socialising shopping with friends and family?
   - Internet of Things, new shopping devices
   - Share economy ideas (like AirBNB, Uber) but for shopping

Last but not least...

4.) What kinds of guests need to be invited to participate on one of the
many teams at the hackathon?

   - What skills will be needed so multiple devices (APPs, Beacons,
Adversiting Screens, IoTs, etc) can all work together via a central
   coordinating cloud?
   - What kinds of developer communities should we invite to participate
(web developers, system administrators, developer operations, application
   developers, usability experts, etc)?
   - Who would be the best judges to make sure that whatever the hackathon
teams create will help our end-users (friends, family, students, customers,
shop owners, etc) improve their shopping experience?
   - What store owners in these malls will want to know about these cloud
apps and ideas so they can support future business opportunities?

Apologies for all the questions (thank you for answers), and please forgive
my lack of Mandarin.

I'm hoping the likes of Rico, Joanna, Allen, Chris, Jhen_Wei, Anita, Jack,
etc - can help with any of the above questions. Please do reply in
Mandarin as I need to improve my language skills!

Thank you one and all 🙇

Best, Flanders
