Open Stack

One other suggestion I would add for improvements next time:  for presentations that are moved to another track, have the tool record something in the comments showing what track it came from.  That gives you a little more insight into the intention of the submitter.  Just an idea.

Hi everyone,

It’s time for Part One of the track chair process.

You have between now and this Sunday, February 7 at 11:59pm PST / Feb 8 at 7:59am UTC to complete this part. See the timeline below for reference.

During this time we ask you to:

  1.
Review the submissions within your specific track and identify any that need to be moved into another track category by clicking the “Suggest Category Change” button.
  2.
Flag any talks that are obvious test submissions and need to be removed. Note this by making a comment.
  3.
Include comments on any sessions that you want to flag for more discussion later during the selection process. *ONLY* track chairs will be able to view your comments. Speakers and submitters cannot see your comments.

Track Chair Timeline:
February 2: Deadline for speaking submissions via the Call for Speakers platform
February 3-7: Track Chairs review submissions and potentially move sessions to other tracks if they are a better fit
February 9-17: Session voting open to the community
February 22-29: Track chairs review session proposals and discuss choices
February 29: Track chairs submit final session selections via administrative tool - we will provide you with a video tutorial for how to use the tool
March 7: Foundation staff notifies all submitters whether or not their session was accepted into the final Summit agenda
March 7: Breakout session agenda published
