FYI, Pre-stressing hardware before production has been a topic in some of the scientific SIG discussions. The CERN process is now described in http://openstack-in-production.blogspot.fr/2018/03/hardware-burn-in-in-cern-datacenter.html. The current implementation is not easily portable to other clouds but there is ongoing discussion with the Ironic team to see how this sort of approach can be integrated. Discussions have started now in openstack-dev for those who are interested. Tim
