[openstack-qa] Generic question about network configurations in test environments

Hey all,

While working through some issues it brought up a question I had about the environment people are running Tempest or other tests in, mostly to do with network configuration. For example, a basic Devstack environment only has a private network with an IPv4 address, one of my scaled test environments may have a public and private network with IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and so on. This has caused us certain challenges, especially when trying to assert if the network configuration for an instance is "correct". My question to the larger group is this: would be is make sense to configure or in some other way in Tempest set an expectation of the proper network configuration for an instance?
