Hi All,
I’m currently working on some design proposals that will be attached to design summit sessions in Atlanta. One of the important things to do with respect to these design sessions is to start a conversation with the group that will be your audience BEFORE the summit. This will give everyone interested some background and a chance to prepare for the discussion on the topic at summit. These sessions are only 45 minutes and go very fast, so there really isn’t any time to spend trying to get people up to speed.
I wanted to bring this up on this mailing list because I think we are doing some great work here and have a really solid crew of UXers, but I want to be sure we are communicating what we are doing to the development community at large. Also, I want to be sure that everyone on this list who is interested in being a part of general UX research and design work within the community are able to follow the dev discussions happening out there.
I’d recommend anyone who isn't already subscribed, to subscribe to the following list:
http://lists.openstack.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openstack-dev
I hope to send some e-mails this week out to the dev list using the UX tag with the following topics, and I hope that you all will give your thoughts on them!
[UX] Proposed agenda for back to back User Experience sessions at ATL summit.
[UX] Reviewing the results from a Usability Test run on Horizon Icehouse.
[UX] Updating the Overview pages in Horizon.
Also, if everyone working on design and research in the community could join the #openstack-ux channel on free node, that would be very helpful for quick group communication.
Let me know what you all think of this!
Thanks,
Liz
