[Openstack-operators] [cinder] os-vol-host-attr:host value invalid after upgrade

Hi,
After migrating from Juno to Mitaka [ via Kilo and Liberty in between ],
new cinder-volume services are created with pool specific names, instead of
host specific names.
e.g.
Old service: node123 at rbd-volumes#rbd-volumes
New service: rbd:poolzone1 at rbd-volumes#rbd-volumes
The old services show as down, and the new services function normally.
However, volumes seem to have the old service name specified in the volume
propery "os-vol-host-attr:host". This makes volume operations like delete
fail, they remain in state deleting.
If we update the "host" value from the volumes table in the cinder db, the
operations work again.
This feels like something that should be part of a db data migration
process. Did we miss a step that does this?
Is there proper way to manage this migration from one cinder-volume service
to another?
The "cinder migrate" doesn't seem to work, and isn't that practical anyway
when you have 100s or 1000s of volumes.
Any suggestions or pointers appreciated :)
Cheers,
Just
