[Openstack-operators] Mid-Cycle Meetup, NYC, August 25th, call for additional working group sessions

Hi Melvin,

The OpenStack UX project just completed a study to understand operator information needs including documentation, IRC, email lists and reviewing the actual code. We were planning to briefly touch on the results (< 10 min), but wanted to use the majority of the time to brainstorm with Operators to identify a solution.

For anyone that is interested in attending, Danielle Mundle will be giving a presentation on Friday at 14:00 UTC to discuss the results from the interviews with operators on information.

Here is a description of the study:

"OpenStack Operators have to make important decisions quickly. They have a vast range of resources on how to design, deploy, and manage OpenStack at their disposal. So what do they do when their production environment goes down despite their best efforts, and their jobs are on the line? That's what we wanted to find out.

The OpenStack UX and Documentation teams have conducted interviews that aims to give an insight into real-word problem solving, so that we can develop useful, streamlined solutions for operators."

Should not have been deleted as that would not be acceptable practice. Do you happen to still have what you commented?

Hiya,

I added a note to the documentation session, but noticed it had disappeared a few hours later. I just was curious to know whether it was deleted or somehow wasn’t saved to the etherpad.

Is deleting other folks comments fair game? I would hope they would be crossed-out with a comment why.

Thanks,

Piet

Hello Everyone,
The itinerary for the meet up is starting to come together nicely. We have landed the general sessions on the main stage fairly well I feel. However, we can fit more working group proposals into the venue but need some more topics.

The etherpad for suggestions is here :

https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/NYC-ops-meetup

and the current state of the itinerary is here

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EUSYMs3GfglnD8yfFaAXWhLe0F5y9hCUKqCYe0Vp1oA/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=1046944156

Please contribute by adding topics and/or +1ing existing topics. This itinerary will be discussed in the IRC meeting tomorrow, which I believe Tom will be sending out his handy reminder for soon.

Chris
