We have that setup working, but we had to replace QEMU/KVM with version 1.7. Not only did live migrations have problems, but Windows guests would just freeze in time randomly using older versions of QEMU/KVM. I can dig up the exact bug we found that caused CPU ticks to not be sent, if that would be helpful. We use qemu-kvm_1.7.0+dfsg-3ubuntu6_amd64.deb because we've had issues getting everything to play nice with later versions of that package. We are seeing instance clock issues like [1] during some migrations. This eventually led us to a Qemu changelog entry that suggested migrations are broken in 1.5 and 1.6 [2]. Since 1.5 is in the Havana Ubuntu Cloud Archive, I'd love to hear from anyone with a similar configuration who isn't having any problems or who upgraded to a newer version of Qemu.
