Yes, it works. Thanks for bringing this up, I had to change soft linking of kernel to copy.
Tested on Centos 6.4 and Debian 7 with partition scheme like:
NAME FSTYPE LABEL MOUNTPOINT
sda
├─sda1 ext4 /boot
├─sda2 swap [SWAP]
└─sda3 ext4 /
I assume Debian 6 works also, since is almost the same as 7.

Does it work if there's a boot and/or swap partition, or does it require there be a single disk partition?

I have reworked my previous tool I've made for CentOS. New tool supports CentOS, Debian 6 and Debian 7, other distros can be added without much work (I hope).
As before, LVM is not supported (yet), but I'm working on it(TM).
