[Openstack-operators] Openstack with Citrix Xenserver

Hi Premsudhan,

Quantum and XenServer will likely need the following change https://review.openstack.org/#/c/15022/ which has not yet been merged into trunk.

Most existing setups of XenServer use nova-network rather than quantum.

Thanks,

Bob

Hi John,

Finally able to create an instance in Citrix Xenserver through Openstack.:) But still am not able to make the networking(quantum) work in new VM created. Am sure am missing out something here as am not clear how to make my Dom0 to communicate with my Quantum node.

Any proper documentation on this ?

Hi John,
GM, Created Xen Hypervisor with EXT support, now that particular error got vanished:)

Now am stuck with this error.

In one of the forums (https://answers.launchpad.net/nova/+question/160571) they are suggesting to add parameter
" nova.network.xenapi_net" in nova.conf file but it throws me an error as well stating "ImportError: No module named xenapi_net"

Am i missing something here ? should i have to do some config changes in the quantum node ?

Any help is much appreciated.

Probably worth including the list, the Citrix guys on there can help you too.

Sounds like you are talking to XenAPI OK.
Also, sounds like you have the XenAPI plugins installed correct (as
download_vhd has started)

What sort of local SR do you have? Is it EXT or LVM.

It needs to be EXT. You get that by clicking on the "Optimised for
XenDestop" option in the installer.
