Hi guys, two weeks ago we started studying open stack, because we want to
migrate our current cloudish configuration to a real one.
We have all our virtual servers running on the same network segment,
because we never used vlans with xen. Now we'd like to do things right.
We already have many different vlans, one for each department. Some of them
have public ip networks and some private networks.
For instance when a department ask for a virtual server we run it in our IP
network, when if we were using vlans in xen we could run it on the
departments network lets say vlan 3. what we want is to use this vlans we
already have assigned to each department in our openstack deploy, we wont
use floating IPs, because each department has its own public network if it
needs one. We would like to asign a tenant to each department so they can
create they our virtual servers and run them on their own networks.
So far we couldnt find a solution to this. I've read provider networks
could help to achieve our goal, but we couldnt make it yet.
if you have any other question about our problem, just let me know!
Thanks!!!
