Hi Roman,
I am not sure what is the motivation you sent a stat.
Could you clarify it so that others can understand your point.
Thanks,
Akihiro

Hi Akihiro,
Sure. I was talking to Ian (ianychoi) a few weeks ago in IRC [0], and
he has suggested that it would be good idea to share result in a
mailing list.
Primarily I wanted to see my personal results.

Hello Roman,
Really appreciate your kind sharing on executing Zanata stats! It is not
easy now - there are so many Zanata projects so soft processing to
overcome API limits (e.g., sleep() function) is needed.
I confess that I couldn't generate such stats during Ussuri cycle and
couldn't proceed extra-ATC nomination
with additional consideration on transition from I18n official team to
I18n SIG vs. process on extra-ATCs, but it was discussed by TC after
Victoria PTL election [1]
and it is finally concluded that *I18n translators can vote for upcoming
TC election*.
Now I am waiting for TC approval [2] but concluded that it is still
worth sharing translation status when I discussed with Roman via IRC, as
mentioned.
Will update later to Wiki page and I18n Contributor Guide once [2] is
finally approved.
With many thanks,
/Ian

Should we move forward with it?

I noticed one point we haven't discussed yet.
The subject says "Stop translating non-UI projects for stable branches?".
Does "non-UI" include document translation?
As my hat of Japanese language coordinator, we no longer translate
documentation much,
so it does not matter much.
However, I believe we need to clarify it.

Most docs repos have no stable branches. I'm only aware of docs
translation on horizon on stable branches - and that would not change.
openstack-manuals, security-doc etc have no stable branches.
So, this should not make any difference. Can somebody check our
documents to double check, please?

Sorry for my late reply. I have not heard any additional requirements on
translating stable branches on documents except Horizon,
and I recognize that openstack-manuals and security-doc now have only
master branch maintained.
Andreas, would you give me more time slots (e.g., ~1 week) before moving
forward on https://review.opendev.org/#/c/723217/ ?
I18n team has just become SIG - no actual differences IMO but will try
to more figure out current status and get back to you.
Appreciate such kind understanding in advance.
With many thanks,
/Ian

Subject: [OpenStack-I18n] [I18n] I18n team now becomes SIG (Special
Interested Group) + call for volunteers
Message-ID: <100ed728-ddff-fe91-3b5f-d1da306edf52@gmail.com>
Hello,
This is to announce that OpenStack Technical Committee finally approved
https://review.opendev.org/#/c/721605/ patch
which means that I18n team now becomes a SIG (Special Interested Group)
team.
Note that I18n team stayed as an official team for about recent five
years [1], which were really great to deeply involve in reflecting
translation artifacts for better internationalization world by tightly
interacting with other official teams.
Now I feel that lots of detail processes and guidelines are well-defined
and now very stable.
There can be many next actions, but first of all, I would like to
vitalize more communications by calling for volunteers to co-work with
this I18n SIG.
Feel free to reach me (e.g., e-mail, IRC) if you would like to work
together or
if you think that your language team seems silent, please also ping me
so that I wanna move forward by communicating existing language
coordinators or nominating new language coordinators.
With many thanks,
/Ian
