We reached a lot in the last three cycles: - Continous translation of OpenStack core projects - Translating whitepapers and User Survey for OSF - Setup translation check server and extend functionality - Start project doc translation We had a great time last year during Berlin Summit in Germany. Now it's up to rotate PTL role as it's thought to get fresh air in the project. I'm still part of the community and available for help as I18n and Docs core. But I also want to do something with research in AI/Machine Translation, to find useful use cases in the project. I would like to thank everyone who supported me over the years. It was a great experience and I can recommend it for everyone :) kind regards Frank From ianyrchoi at gmail.com Wed Mar 6 03:35:41 2019 From: ianyrchoi at gmail.com (Ian Y. I served the PTL role on Ocata and Pike cycle, and have been great memory with last three release cycles with Frank who did so wonderful PTL activities. During Train cycle, I would like to do and collaborate with team members:  * Helping to continue previous nice work    (e.g., translation checksite, user-survey translation)  * Investigating with Zanata's health and possible alternatives [1]  * Communicating with translators and language coordinators  * Sharing the voice from OpenStack teams with I18n team  * Clean handover to the next PTL or discussing with team's    direction (e.g., to a working group) I want to add the fourth part - as Frank wrote non-candicacy [2], it would be so great if the project gets fresh air. I don't think I am the part of fresh air since I also stayed in I18n team a lot like Frank. But it seems that I18n team needs more transition and hand-over period for a new PTL, or more discussion with team members might be needed to think about our team's direction such as changing the team status from an official team to a working group. I have created stable versions on Zanata with a new experiment - no content but that should lose translation history as far as I remember. I have manually copied from master to stable-stein on octavia-dashboard, and copying horizon (not sure but currently the process is stuck on 2 of 12). Note that there so many translation sync targets for stable branches which are currently ready according to openstack/release, like the followings. I cannot handle all manually so that's why I created versions with no content with zanata-cli for test purpose: ceilometer cinder designate designate-dashboard glance heat horizon ironic ironic-inspector ironic-ui karbor karbor-dashboard keystone magnum manila murano murano-dashboard networking-ovn neutron neutron-fwaas-dashboard neutron-lbaas-dashboard neutron-vpnaas-dashboard nova octavia octavia-dashboard sahara sahara-dashboard sahara-plugin-ambari sahara-plugin-cdh sahara-plugin-mapr sahara-plugin-spark sahara-plugin-storm sahara-plugin-vanilla searchlight searchlight-ui senlin solum solum-dashboard swift tacker trove trove-dashboard watcher zaqar zaqar-ui zun-ui With many thanks, /Ian Yuko Katabami wrote on 3/28/2019 11:56 AM: > Hi Motoki-san, > > Thank you very much for your assistance. > Much appreciated. > > Kind regards, > > Yuko > > On Thu, 28 Mar 2019 at 10:40, Akihiro Motoki > wrote: > > I forwarded it to openstack-discuss ML to increase a chance to get > some help from the infra team. > If we have no stable-stein version in Zanata, translation import > process for Stein release would be complicated and I am afraid > most projects cannot contain proper translations in time. > http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-discuss/2019-March/004296.html > > On Wed, Mar 27, 2019 at 11:21 AM Yuko Katabami > > wrote: > > Hi Frank and all, > > I have a couple of questions about Horizon UI translation. > Hope you can help me. > > 1. Now the syncing needs to be done and the jobs in openstack-zuul-jobs needs updating to run on stein as well. > Note that there so many translation sync targets for stable branches > which are currently ready according to openstack/release, like the > followings. > I cannot handle all manually so that's why I created versions with no > content with zanata-cli for test purpose: Copying over the translated documents for these is needed as well. With just the versions created the next merge to stein would upload the files to translate and then translation could start. It can take some time until first changes get merged ;( I started deleting some of yours and recreated with "copy version" in the GUI. That way folks can start translation. > Copying over the translated documents for these is needed as well.
