May I ask what the error message was?



Also, did you try

manage.py makemessages -l en_AU

or

django-admin.py makemessages -l en_AU


after adding it to LANGUAGES?

?


My understanding is that the locale settings bundled with django
(https://github.com/django/django/tree/master/django/conf/locale) are
only used after checking 3 other places first:
