[OpenStack-docs] Some clarification on auth_type / auth_plugin?

Which is the preferred use? I'm getting mixed messages between the
programs and the documentation.

"Use of the auth_admin_prefix, auth_host, auth_port, auth_protocol,
identity_uri, admin_token, admin_user, admin_password, and
admin_tenant_name configuration options was deprecated in the Mitaka"

Yet at this page:
https://docs.openstack.org/ocata/config-reference/common-configurations/auth.html
only some are mentioned to be deprecated.

I've found a page
(https://docs.openstack.org/developer/keystoneauth/plugin-options.html)
explaining some of the plugins, but I don't quite understand why there's
no preference for using anything other than password.

Take glance for instance, does it really need to have it's own user and
password to keystone to verify user tokens, or can you get by with
auth_plugin set to token?
