Apologies in advance for top-posting, but I couldn't figure out the convention from this email ;-) ;-) ;-) so I took the lazy / easy way out.

Anyway, as one of the volunteers on this conversion, I don't have any problem with the dual approach as long as there isn't a high volume of patches submitted (and I wouldn't expect there to be.)

One thing we did due to the long migration times for the user guides was to request a change to both the XML and RST in any patchset during the migration period. There weren't too many of those, but you may consider it for the time period so the freeze isn't preventing improved content in the meantime.

Since we needed 3 months to migrate the other two guides (mid-Feb to mid-May), and this release is only 5.5 months, you should probably try either not to freeze or to migrate more quickly.

Just a consideration based on past experience -- you may have already found a way to migrate more content quickly.

That's a good idea.  I'm feeling my way somewhat here, so having the benefit of past experience is much appreciated.

User Guide team et al., how do you feel about requesting XML and RST for patches while we're doing the migration rather than freezing the doc?

If you happen to find yourself reviewing an XML Cloud Admin Guide patch in the next few weeks, please let the author know about the freeze and ask them to resubmit an RST patch when the conversion is finished.
