Okay, let's start the discussion here then.

I remember agreeing to American English for the Operations Guide.

Can we agree to American English for the openstack-manuals?

Evidence that would back an argument to go with American English:

While India (9%) and China(7.5%) come in at #2 and #3 in the last six
months of web analytics, US visitors are at 28%.
More of our contributors know American English spellings than British.

I would like to hear from translators if American English is more familiar
than British.
