Hi!

This is the weekly update on Technical Committee initiatives. Following
feedback at the PTG, I moved the full list of all open topics to a new
wiki page. Update your bookmarks to:

https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Technical_Committee_Tracker

If you are working on something (or plan to work on something) that is
not on the tracker, feel free to add to it.

Main change is the confirmation in writing that the TC will rely more on
asynchronous communications in its decision-making process. For direct
communications, we hold office hours at various times during the week.
Official meetings should therefore be exceptional at this point. Read
the full resolution for more details:

== PTG report ==

The TC shared a room at the PTG on Monday/Tuesday with the Stewardship
WG, then met again on Friday afternoon. You can find notes at:

== New project teams ==

We now have 5 project teams applying for inclusion. Ideally those
applications should be approved or rejected before the Queens-1
milestone (mid-October), but we are still missing input from several TC
members.

Blazar (https://review.openstack.org/482860) reached majority on Sept
20, will be approved on Sept. 26 unless new objections are raised.

Glare (https://review.openstack.org/479285) is still being discussed,
with several TC members voicing a preference for reconsidering this
application in 6 months to give the Glance/Glare relationship more time
to mature.

Stackube (https://review.openstack.org/#/c/462460/) voting is in
progress, with likely another patchset needed to include missing
information regarding requirements.

Masakari (https://review.openstack.org/#/c/500118/) voting is in
progress, no objection recorded so far.

Cyborg (https://review.openstack.org/#/c/504940/) voting is in progress,
no objection recorded so far.

== Open discussions ==

Following a PTG discussion, smcginnis proposed to remove upgrade assert
tags that do not have a single deliverable applying for them:

* supports-zero-impact-upgrade: https://review.openstack.org/506241
* supports-accessible-upgrade: https://review.openstack.org/506263

The top-5 help wanted entry for Designate contributors is still being
discussed, and likely to require another revision. Please review it here:

https://review.openstack.org/498719

Trove moving to maintenance-mode is still being discussed, with input
from the newly-chosen PTL wanted:

https://review.openstack.org/#/c/488947/

Finally there are a number of non-trivial tag applications that you may
want to review:

* supports-rolling-upgrade for Heat: https://review.openstack.org/503145
* api-interop assert for Nova: https://review.openstack.org/506255
* api-interop assert for Ironic: https://review.openstack.org/482759

== Voting in progress ==

Infrastructure sysadmins top-5 addition
(https://review.openstack.org/496404) now reached majority support and
will be approved on Sept 26 pending objections.

The Glance top-5 entry is being reworded to account for the recent
activity: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/503168/ -- this also reached
majority on Sept 20 and will be approved on Sept 26 unless new
objections are recorded.

Searchlight moving to maintenance-mode eached majority support today and
will be approved on Sept 26 pending objections:

https://review.openstack.org/#/c/502849/

== TC member actions for the coming week(s) ==

Monty should answer the feedback on the supported database version
resolution (https://review.openstack.org/493932) so that we can make
progress there.

John's should convert his global inclusion resolution
(https://review.openstack.org/#/c/460946/) into project-team-guide material.

== Need for a TC meeting next Tuesday ==

No proposal is really blocked due to member disagreement right now.
Nothing really requires holding an official meeting, so let's discuss
active proposals during the TC office hours next week. You can join us at:

Cheers,
