Deprecated things are maintained in OSC for a minimum of one year (two
major releases for the current schedules) following the first release of
deprecation. So the commands mentioned here will be removed no sooner than
late August 2017. In practice we tend to be conservative on these and do
not always do them immediately.

Steve has said in the past that we hold for two major releases[0], however
OSC does not use the service release cycle and that can be confused with
two major OSC releases, which have no timeframe associated with them.
