i haven't tried 2.x personally. we use pretty standard functionality for 
ElasticSearch driver and at quick glance, it seems like all the apis 
still exist.

i agree with jd, feel free to bump and we'll deal with the effects.

i guess the only question i have is whether ES 2.x is even an option? is 
it packaged by distro or are they still using 1.x?
