Hi,
We are stoked to present this week's subteam report for Ironic. As usual,
this is pulled directly from the Ironic whiteboard[0] and formatted.
Bugs (dtantsur)
===============
(diff with Nov 16)
- Open: 171 (+4). 11 new (+1), 60 in progress (-1), 0 critical, 16 high
(+2) and 11 incomplete
- Nova bugs with Ironic tag: 24. 0 new (-1), 0 critical, 0 high
- Inspector bugs: 14. 0 new, 0 critical, 7 high
Network isolation (Neutron/Ironic work) (jroll)
===============================================
- reviews in progress
- actively working on nova side:
https://review.openstack.org/#/q/status:open+project:openstack/nova-specs+branch:master+topic:bp/ironic-networks-support,n,z
- have a solid plan for doing CI on this
Manual cleaning (rloo)
======================
- state machine has been updated to allow manual clean flow
- code patches ready for review: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/247285/1
https://review.openstack.org/#/c/247695/,
https://review.openstack.org/#/c/247701/
- still need code patches for API-related parts, as well as documentation
and reno release notes
Live upgrades (lucasagomes, lintan)
===================================
- Propose a code guide for change of RPC/Object version
- https://review.openstack.org/#/c/248647/
ironic-lib adoption (rloo)
==========================
- ironic-lib 0.4.0 released with 'root_helper' config
- ironic patch to use ironic-lib: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/184443/.
Getting really close... - code sets default value for ironic-lib's
'root-helper' config using value from 'rootwrap_config' config. But
ironic.conf.sample shows 'root-helper' default as '<None>'. Two thoughts:
1. do not show root-helper config in the .sample (is that a
hack/misleading)? or 2. in ironic-lib, would it have been better to add a
method to set a global 'root-helper' variable instead of having the config?
Nova Liaisons (jlvillal & mrda)
===============================
- No update this week. jlvillal was in training
Oslo (lintan)
=============
- oslo_config will set enforce_type=True by default, which means config
option's value should be correct type and valid value even in tests. Ironic
should fix violations ASAP.
- https://review.openstack.org/#/c/243430/
Doc (jroll, liliars)
====================
- no updates, liliars is out for a bit
Testing/Quality (jlvillal/lekha/krtaylor)
=========================================
- CI spec making progress, nearing merge?
- subteam meeting mainly centered around CI, all driver dependency checking
Inspector (dtansur)
===================
- still debugging IPA gate, suspected cause is low memory for VM's
Drivers:
========
iLO (wanyen)
------------
- iLO driver document has been submitted since Sept. and it is still under
review. To make the review easier, we have splitted this document patch
into 5 smaller patches :
- https://review.openstack.org/240132- Updates ilo documentation for
mistakes
- https://review.openstack.org/240136- Adds Swift HTTPS information
- https://review.openstack.org/240141-Converts the deploy process
documentation to diagrams
- https://review.openstack.org/241893-Adds documentation for Swiftless
deploy
- https://review.openstack.org/242333-refactor ilo documentation for
duplicate information
- https://review.openstack.org/242771- Adds information on HTTPs based
deploy
- https://review.openstack.org/242774- Adds Standalone ilo drivers
documentation.
- Since the up-to-date iLO driver document did not make to Liberty, we
really need to land these patches in master branch so that users can have
documentation for iLO driver's Liberty features. Your review will be
highly appreciated.
iRMC (naohirot)
---------------
https://review.openstack.org//#/q/owner:+naohirot%2540jp.fujitsu.com+status:+open,n,z
- Status: Active
- Enhance Power Interface for Soft Reboot and NMI
(bp/enhance-power-interface-for-soft-reboot-and-nmi)
- OOB rescue mode support (bp/oob-rescue-mode-support)
- Status: Reactive (solicited for core team's review)
- New boot driver interface for iRMC drivers (bp/new-boot-interface)
