Open Stack

Hello All,
We would like to extend the nova 'vhost-user' plug API to attach the port
to Cisco Nexus 1000v, which supports vhost-user interface. Currently the
plug-API supports attaching to OVS. The code I'm referring to is
'plug_vhostuser()' API in 'nova/virt/libvirt/vif.py'.

I would like to submit changes for this. But One of my colleague mentioned
there is a proposal to make the NOVA VIF driver more generic. Can some one
please elaborate on this (or) point to blue-print? I would like to look and
discuss on the proposal.
