Well, that's the problem. We have been separating traffic between two
lists based on the topic of the discussions, to reduce noise for
subscribers. This may be convenient for you to tap into "experienced
people" but it just creates noise for everyone else. It also discourages
"experienced people" from watching the general list.

Unfortunately I can't go and police every off-topic thread. Ideally,
"experienced people" would ignore such threads as off-topic, but some
people are just helpful. It creates precedents, which are then used to
justify further call-for-help postings.

Those lists are pretty active and keeping them usable is critical to the
success of OpenStack. Respecting the topic for each list is the base
trick we use to keep the signal/noise ratio high. The next best thing is
to label the subject correctly.
